1.Marking the fabric
Mark symbols shown on the pattern through to the fabric. You can do it by pushing out the corners with a sewing awl. If you don’t own a sewing awl, pick an old sewing machine needles!
Transfer these markings with your marking pencils over holes.
NOTE: I find it easier to mark button symbols on right side of the fabric, whereas dart symbols on the wrong side.
2. Finish edges
Overlock or zigzag stitch all edges. You can eliminate this step or use sewing glues if you will never launder the item. If you don’t own a sewing glue, water down white glue to finish raw edges. It works!
Apply interfacing to the wrong side of the fabric as directed in the pattern.

3. Make a Stand
Place two pieces of stand right side to right side, and sew along the edge. (Leave the bottom unsewn)
Trim corners 2mm from seam to reduce thickness.
Press the seam open, and turn the collar to right side.
With right side facing up, stitch along with 0.5 cm seam.
4. Make a Collar
Before sewing the collar, apply additional decorations if you want. Decorate your front bib with trims (often like the picture above), or you can even embroider it!
It’ll be sweet to have laces/ ruffles at the hem, too.
When you apply ruffles, it can be difficult to make a sharp corner point, but try to fit gathers into a tight curve, securing enough layers.
Place the stand onto neckline, and stitch with 5mm seam allowance.
Place front and back bibs right side to right side, and sew them together.
Turn it over, and press well!
Topstitch along the collar with 5mm seam.
Apply hook and eye fasteners on the wrong side of the fabric.
